Our Adoption Process

Adopting a dog from Rebel Souls Rescue is a straightforward process designed to ensure the best possible match between you and your new companion. We want every adoption to be a forever placement, so we take the time to get to know both our dogs and our applicants.

Step 1: Browse and Inquire

Look through our available dogs above and identify the ones that interest you. Submit an adoption inquiry through our contact form and let us know which dog caught your eye and a bit about your household.

Step 2: Application Review

Our adoption coordinator will review your application and reach out to discuss your living situation, experience with dogs, and what you are looking for in a companion. We also contact your veterinary references and may require a landlord reference if you rent.

Step 3: Meet and Greet

We arrange a meet-and-greet at the foster home so you can spend time with the dog in a comfortable environment. If you have other dogs, we coordinate a separate introduction to ensure compatibility.

Step 4: Home Sweet Home

Once approved, you complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Your new family member comes home with their medical records, a starter bag of food, and our ongoing support for any questions or challenges that arise.

Our adoption fees range from $150 to $350 depending on the dog's age and medical needs. This fee covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing and treatment, and any additional veterinary care provided during their time in rescue. View our success stories to see the happy endings that come from our adoption process, or learn more about our organization.

Many of the dogs in our care are pit bulls and bully breeds that face discrimination under outdated laws. Learn more about how Breed Specific Legislation hurts dogs like these and what you can do to fight back against breed-based bans that separate families from their pets.
